This product is essential for landscape photographers like me. Not only does it make images sharper by isolating the shutter button from the camera, it is perfect for taking long exposures and any form of timed photography. Although the D80 can only take exposures as long as 30 seconds before switching to bulb mode, this remote can take timed shots as long as 99 hours. This is particularly useful for astrophotographers and night landscape photographers. Moreover, the timer is far more advanced, since any interval and exposure can be set from the controls. It functions extremely well as an intervalometer - taking unlimited shots for any exposure time. Increases the flexibility of the camera by several fold. However, the instruction booklet is terribly written, so it takes some time to get used to the thing. Also, I should mention that the display is LED illuminated - which is helpful at night. Definitely recommended, considering the price.
